The shimmering sapphire blue,
Sparkles before me.
It allures me,
Takes control of my attention.
The breezy wind,
Ruffles my hair.
The sun shines,
High above with such intensity.
White dots,
Dance across her surface.
Waves a plenty,
Decorate her body.
You are by my side,
Gazing out with me.
Also entranced,
With her shimmering beauty.
The gulls cries,
Follow along with the tide.
We head inside,
For our hunger can not be denied.
Inside we sit,
And enjoy our lovely meal.
As scrumptious as it was,
A loud thundering sound soon took the main stage.
Before us,
Sailed a behemoth of the sea.
Roaring out to everyone,
Of its colossal presence.
We head out to go see,
This wondrous machine made by humanity.
Leaving our meal and hunger behind,
At the table with the rest of our group.
All around us too,
Are others amazed by the size of this ship.
Chatter of excitement swells in the air,
As well as photos taken a plenty.
A Freighter,
Is what they are called.
Such large and amazing ships,
Ones that you have seen a time or two before.
You are not at as amazed,
By this hulking vessel.
You stand next to me,
And watch the sparkles of wonder in my eyes.
We stand here,
Watch it go by.
Watch as it sails past,
And leaves us all in its wake.
~~My sincerest apologies for the late poem! I just upgraded my computer set up and cleaned up around my room for it during this weekend. After doing all of that I was exhausted! Hopefully this poem will make up for my tardiness! I'll be working on a short story this week, hopefully all goes well with it! Until next time my friends! <3
