Down The Road (2023)

Oh what a journey on the road to adventure!
My horse and I ride together as one.
Passing trees a plenty,
And open fields galore.

The road ahead is bumpy.
Seems as though others haven’t been down this path in awhile.
That’s okay though!
We will push on!

The road becomes more treacherous the further we go.
The trees become thicker,
More wild now than before.
We don’t stop though!

The road eventually splits into three.
To continue straight.
To the right.
Or to the left.

The road straight ahead still looks in good condition.
It looks safe.
Safe for a small adventure.
As well as an easier way to get back home.

The road to the right seems a little more unkempt.
Branches and holes litter the road.
It adds a little more danger,
But still roughly safe for an experienced adventurer.

The road to the left isn’t even a road at all!
It is a trail made by people looking for more risk to an even greater reward.
It’ll be easy to get lost on this road.
Could my horse and I even get back home this way?

There is another option though.
To go back where we just came,
And call it a day.
A small adventure is just as fun as a big one too after all!

My horse and I stayed at the crossroads for a while.
Letting the sun move over our heads.
Time passes by, not waiting for our decision.
That’s okay though, we’ll go when we’re ready.

Life is made up of many roads and crossings.
It’s up to you where you decide to take your adventure.
No matter the path though,
Always make sure you can find your way home.
