Before the time of paper and pen.
There was chisel and rock.
When the history of the people got to immense for only speech,
It was time to write it permanently down on stone.
Paints worked just as well for describing.
Picturing the past and all their important events.
Still leaving a mark on nature without the use of force.
And remembering who we once were.
Some stories were so grand that they had to be carved into mountains.
A delicate and time consuming process.
As well as grueling and arduous to transform it into a memento.
Just so we don’t forget.
Prompt: Rupestral
An adjective for something composed of or inscribed on rock.
