Bloodstained Glow (2023)

The crimson light floods my room.
The loud banging from downstairs engulfs my ears.
Yelling and screaming consume the atmosphere.
Panic and fear are sprinkled into the air.

My mind flashes to the times of before.
When my own home didn’t turn into a war zone.
When peace was the only way.
Oh how I wished that were true.

Now what lies here is a barren wasteland.
Of shattered dreams.
Of mangled hopes.
Of a family I once had.

I look out my window towards the falling sun.
Thinking that world was coming to an end in the bloodstained glow,
So we could all be dancing in the embers of despair.
In reality it was just only mine.
